mood: thankful

Hey! "Mad Ups" to LJ user [info]popjellyfish for promoting me on his LJ! The flap of his wings caused a tsunami of new readers. He's a promising artist, and we should expect great things from him in the future. Thanks to those of you who've visited from Technoccult as well, and for the continued support of friends all across internet-land.
And always, thanks to Robin for being an outstanding collaborator and friend.

I've been a bit lazy with updates to wcn, as I'm working on getting The Marvel: A Biography of Jack Parsons publication ready, as well as collaborating with artists on two new projects. However, I return to a weekly-ish schedule tomorrow! Look for Page 33 on 8/27/08.

Congratulations to my good buddy Len Kody on his marriage to the lovely Susan. Len, as you may know, is the writer of Cisco Kid vs. Wyatt Earp (with art by Eric J) from Moonstone, and the genius behind the historical fiction Chicago: 1968 (with art by Jenny Frison) available from webcomicsnation as well as Shadowline's recently launched webcomic site. Len is currently in Mexico getting tattooed by a shaman and unleashing his latent spider-totem-related-powers.
No, I assure you he really is.

Yo yo. Actually, my friend Klint runs Technoccult(he's also the event director of esoZone, which is something that's far away from you, but you might find interesting). I was talking with him tonight, joking that the asshole forgot to ever promote my book.

A lot of my friends dig your shit, mang. Keep it up.

About time they noticed! JK. I'm happy that people are reading it and enjoying it! I check boingboing every day, and seeing Jack's story pop up on my feed was wild!
Thanks again for your support!

Hi! Congratulations for a very good idea! I'm Polish publisher of subversive, brain-changing books (Crowley, R.A. Wilson, McKenna et consortes) and I would be quite interested in publishing your work when you give it final form. Just take a look at my site http://www.okultura.com, find our mail in KONTAKT and send us an e-mail, cause I'm not a user of livejournal and can't find your e-mail here.

Your stuff looks great! The quality of the books which you print are what I'm looking for in a publisher. I've got someone lined up to publish the book, but I am looking to do a companion piece on the Babalon Working. Let's get in touch.

I just started it, so it looks sort of weak, but I had only nice things to say of you and 'The Marvel.' It's at:

Rock on, man.

Hey thanks, man! I'm glad you're digging it. It's good to know people are reading and liking it.
By the way, Achewood is still my favorite online comic.

Amazing. I've been interested in this character for a bit. Him, Crowley, Yeats, and.. certain others. Always figured there's an amazing comic there. Glad to see someone make it. Was thinking of mixing in some of this history to some ideas I had myself. As soon as this thing's published, I'd sure love to get a copy of it. Great job. And good luck. I hear getting stories of Parsons published can be a bit tough.

medium AND small size scans?

Hi. I got pointed over here from bOingbOing and lost an hour or so going through the archives of The Marvel. Very nicely done, I really like your hand. But... I have a very large monitor. I found the earlier, larger scans to be much clearer on my system, and found myself squinting to try and read the later pages. And two of them were illegible (as you obviously figured out, since you provided the text separately below one of them). I do, however, appreciate that not everyone has gargantuan monitors and may need the smaller, faster-loading scans, so... I'd like to request that you link the new-sized scans to a copy of the old-sized scans. That way people on laptops, etc. can view the smaller version and fit it onscreen, and people like me can view the larger version, and fully appreciate the detail you put into your work, such as the bruised face of young Jack, or his expressions while he's reading Weird Tales.

Thanks for you artwork, and please consider my suggestion.

Good luck!

There's a limit to what I can do with webcomicsnation's hosting in regard to linking from images. The larger scans were slow to load for a lot of people, and yes, the smaller scans are pretty hard to read.
As you can no doubt tell, the comic is intended to be read in print, and the pages are laid out as such, which is not particularly suited to web format.
Hopefully I'll be able to reconcile this for my web readers; one option I have considered is making the pages available for download through a service offered by wcn. That way people could read at their leisure without waiting for a slow connection, etc.
Thanks for reading, and for your kind words about the art which I will pass along to Robin.

Thanks for that, we're just coming out of the editing lockdown on our latest title, so a little slow in replying.
If you want to get in touch feel free, our email address can be found on www.scarletimprint.com

Unlikely that we would publish graphic novel content, but we are certainly keen to promote Work which furthers the current.

Much Love
